Internationalisation & Language

This website uses British English spelling and all English pronouncation transcriptions are based on Standard Southern British (/ Received Pronunciation).

All names that use 'eastern' order will be written in that order.

Most dates should be automatically formatted for you, but any that aren't will be yyyy-mm-dd.

I will try to give the pronouns of every person I mention, to the best of my knowledge. Ideally based on their own declaration, but other trustworthy descriptions are good.

Accessibility

All images have alt text. Click on an image to see it larger and to see alt text & credits.

Any gifs with flashing images or patterns will be content-warned.

All colour schemes have 4.5:1 contrast ratio or higher between text and the background and most have 7:1 ratio or higher.

AI (no)

NO

To the best of my knowledge no AI has been used for this website though, sadly, it's hard to be certain as AI bullshit seems to be incorporated into everything.

Link colour

Content warning colour

All colour schemes conform to the basic colour contrast guideline (WCAG 2.2 section 1.4.3). And all except those with an * asterisk conform to the stricter guideline (WCAG 2.2 section 1.4.6).

Some links are coloured the same as regular text but all links are underlined e.g. normal link, uncoloured link. Dotted underlined text indicates a note e.g. note

Content Warnings

I will use content warnings whenever appropriate, which shouldn't be very often. Actually, most of these categories aren't used currently, but I've got them here for future-proofing. Links that direct to a website that needs to be content-warned will have a "CW note" next to it: CW note. Warnings can co-occur, e.g. misogynoir would be warned with racism and misogyny. (also "misogynoir" is definately in my top 10 great words that refer to bad things)

I will censor slurs in general, but not if I'm specifically talking about a slur (not something that's going to happen often, but I do enjoy talking about words and shit, so not an impossibility), but it will be forewarned (not that slurs are going to popping up at all really). Also, I'm not going to censor or hide anything else that I talk about. I understand why someone might but to me it treats topics that are important to discuss like they're taboo, which just feels gross. I don't want to make people uncomfortable, but that's the intent of the CWs.

Also, my posts (and Azhararia as a whole) have plenty of swearing, so just a heads-up. (Actually I just checked and there's only 0.63 swears per post on average (as of 2026-01-07) )

Queerphobia

Racism

and colourism, anti-indigenous-ness, islamaphobia, anti-semitism, etc.

Ableism

Misogyny
Fatphobia and Body Negativity

Being a shit about how someone's body is; excluding that which is specifically ableism, transphobia, etc.

Sexual Content

Any discussion of sexually explicit or pornographic content or explicit images. Doesn't include brief / offhanded mentions of sex (e.g. Cock! (unwarned)).

Physical Violence

I will use it moreso for specific acts of violence or injury detail, rather than broader or more general stuff.

Sexual Violence

Mental Illness

and self-harm, suicide, so on. Not mental health generally, of course, nor simply mention of mental illness; I absolutely don't want to tabooise mental illness discussion. Only if I think something would be likely to cause distress, would I CW it.

Imperialism & War

colonialism, genocide, generally large scale shit.

Animal Abuse

Including the farming & exploitation of animals.

Generic

Catch-all category for any content warning that doesn't fit any previous category appropriately enough. I do describe what I'm warning about more specifically in each instance, which I'll especially do for Generic.
