Deal Or No Deal

Welcome to Deal Or No Deal: text web version of the Wii version...

Why? I... I don't know. Blame my brain.

I'm pretty sure by this point I've put more effort into this than was put into the original. Ok, no, considering the programming, character modelling & animation, music, etc. that definately took more work. Though one person I'm certain I've worked harder than is Noel Edmonds, I estimate he has about 50-60 voicelines in total and there's no way he spent more than a day recording them.

By the way, I wanted to be as true to the Wii version as I could so all the dialogue is from the original (except a few descriptions of what was previously shown visually).

And a quick how-to-play
  • There are 22 boxes, each containing an amount of money from 1p up to £250,000.
  • At the start of the game you pick a box, which will be your selected box for the rest of the game.
  • You then pick boxes one-by-one: the amount inside is revealed, and that box & the money inside are removed from the game.
  • After the first 5, then every 3 boxes The Banker will call and offer you a deal. If you accept, that will be your winning money; otherwise, the game continues as normal. (By the way, if you accept the offer the game will also keep going, but hypothetically. I don't understand why, but that's how it worked on the original TV show.)
  • Once there is only 1 other box left, you will receive one final offer from The Banker, then you may be given the opportunity to swap your box with the other remaining box. Finally, your box is opened and you win the money inside, if you haven't taken a deal.
  • Whether you've 'won' is determined by whether you made the right choice in taking a deal or not. If you took a deal, you win if that deal is better than what was in your final box; if you didn't take a deal, you win if what's inside your box is better than The Banker's highest offer.

Also, as well as clicking, you can use arrow keys to navigate the boxes if a box is in focus, and space to skip dialogue/transitions.
